AAs a landscape photographer, I wanted to capture the beauty of the California coast in the waters off Pacific Grove and Monterey. The rocks there stand rough and proud, and the ocean spreads out like a calm, endless mirror at sunset. My goal was to show the quiet mystery of the rocks and the soft glow of the ocean, but waiting for the right moment can really test your patience. The light has to be perfect, and the colors in the sky need just the right mix of reds and pinks.

For what seemed like forever, I stood on the shore, hoping the scene would come together. The sun dipped lower, and finally, it happened. The sky turned into a sea of soft reds and pinks, and the ocean beneath it smoothed out, reflecting the colors like a giant, shimmering painting. The rocks were dark silhouettes against the glowing sky, making the scene feel almost magical.

I clicked the shutter, capturing the moment when everything felt still and perfect—the gentle waves, the quiet rocks, and the sky painted in colors that felt almost unreal.
